Auckland Representatives 2008-2009

Metro is very fortunate to have a group of up and coming young players within the Auckland competition and are proud to announce and congratulate the following who have acheived Auckland Representative status for 2008-2009 season;

Auckland U13"A" Boys: Dimitri Morunga, Cameron Bearman 

Auckland U15 Girls:  Clarissa Mafoe, Sharelle Leota, Freya Bullock, Beth Stavert

Auckland U15 Boys:  Casey Nukunuku, Lewis Jerard

Rehe Joseph Winners

Our congratulations to our Premier Women's team who travelled to Hamilton over the Labour Weekend to attend the Rehe Joseph Memorial Tournament .  The team played extremely well, coming out the Winners of the tournament and had Megan awarded Pitcher of the Tournament and Coco awarded Most RBI’s.  A brillant effort by the girls.  Well done!!!  

 

 

Watties Volunteer Coach of the Year

29th August 2008 - Carl Gribble won his nomination for Watties Volunteer Coach of the Year for our Region.  Metro is very proud to have members and coaches of this calibre representing our Club.  Carl was also named as one of the 17 National finalists.  Although he did not win this we are sure that his accomplishments will continue within our sport.

6th August 2008 - Watties Volunteer Coach of the Year

Thank you for your coach nomination of, Carl Gribble, for the 2008 Wattie’s Volunteer Coach of the Year Awards.   Sponsored by SPARC and Wattie’s, these awards recognise the great effort of volunteer coaches, who give up their time week in, week out, to help New Zealanders enjoy and excel in their chosen sport.

We have just completed the selection process for the Sport Auckland regional awards and your coach Carl Gribble has been included in as one of our regional finalists.

We have sent a letter to your coach to congratulate and invite them to our Regional Watties Volunteer Coach of the Year Awards to be held at the Akarana Golf Club on Friday 29th August.

Once again thank you for taking the time to nominate your coach and best wishes in your future sport.

3rd August 2008 - Premier Women's Coach appointed

We are pleased to announce that Marty Cannon (Snr) has been appointed coach our Premier Women's side for this year.  Marty comes to us fresh from coaching the Eden Roskill Premier Men's side last season and is a long-time coach of junior, senior and representative sides.   We are very pleased to welcome Marty to Metro!  John Stavert from our Championship winning U15 Girls side has offered to assist Marty and we'll be getting them both together with the Premier Women's side very soon.
